Eric Benvin

Program Evaluation Intern & Panel Member

Eric Benvin is currently a science teacher at St. John’s College High School in Washington DC.  The school is situated along the Nation’s Rock Creek Park where classes such as Environmental Science and Marine Biology can take full advantage of the surroundings.  Eric works with students to participate in water quality experiments, invasive species removal, and Shad release throughout the year.   

His background includes a BS in Animals Science and a MA in education from the University of Delaware, which has lead to many opportunities that include teaching at John Bowne High School in NYC.  John Bowne HS is an urban school that has a four acre functioning farm where students are responsible for growing crops and taking care of the animals.In addition to teaching, Eric has worked with Discovery Communications in their education department creating assessments, reviewing contents, and curriculum mapping for the united streaming program and discovery science. Eric is looking forward to contributing to the Earth Echo team in order to bring knowledge into the classroom for students to take initiative and lead the way to help protect our environment.
