Sydney Davis is an artist, actor, philanthropist and activist working to enrich and protect the lives of children and the environment.
Sydney worked for Price Waterhouse as an auditor focusing on financial institutions and nonprofit organizations. She later took her expertise to the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). As Fannie Mae’s Manager of Investor Relations, Sydney communicated all aspects of the company’s financial position, political and credit situations to security analysts, institutional equity and fixed income investors. During her tenure, she designed and implemented the company’s first corporate industry training program for 2,500 employees across the nation.
In addition to her background in finance, Sydney is the founder of her jewelry design business, Sydney Davis Design, and is an actor in film and television. She was appointed to the New Mexico Governor’s Council on Film and Media Industries on which she served for seven years. Sydney is a graduate of Georgetown University with majors in International Business and Marketing and she is a major donor to her alma mater’s scholarship program. She also volunteers as a mentor to Georgetown undergraduate students and as a member of Georgetown’s Alumni Admissions Program. She is a long-time member of the board of The Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe and of the Advisory Council of The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas.
She is an active member of the Board of Directors of Oceana and also serves on its Ocean Council. Sydney authored and is releasing OceanConnection, an ocean conservation curriculum, for national distribution. She is the associate producer of Mission of Mermaids, a documentary dedicated to saving our oceans and the life within them. Sydney created OceanConnection and joined the crew of Mission of Mermaids to provide educational outreach to inspire children, teens and young adults across the United States.
Sydney’s background in television and film, business and curriculum development support her passion to educate about and promote ocean and water conservation for future generations. .
